The subtle scent of lavender, mixed with the power of black tea, evokes sensations that are both rich and delicate. This smoothie is an invitation to rediscover the complexity of flavors through a preparation that is as simple as it is refined, where each ingredient plays its part to perfection.

FAUCHON's answers to your questions

Black tea, a delicious beverage, is made from the leaves of the tea plant, Camelia sinensis. Several steps are essential to the tea-making process. First of all, the leaves are carefully plucked by hand or mechanically, before being withered, which consists of spreading and drying the tea leaves to eliminate the water they contain. The withered leaves are then rolled and exposed to the air to begin oxidation (also known as fermentation). The leaves are then heated to stop oxidation, and dried to remove any residual moisture. Finally sorted, they are ready to be enjoyed.

In addition to delighting the taste buds and the sense of smell, black tea offers numerous health benefits thanks to its rich composition of antioxidants, vitamins and minerals. Antioxidants help combat cell ageing and reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease. Black tea also reduces stress and aids digestion. Black tea and green tea both come from the same plant, Camellia sinensis. The main difference lies in the processing mechanism, notably the oxidation stage. Black tea is darker, as it is oxidized to its fullest for a more robust taste. Green tea, on the other hand, is heated to prevent oxidation and preserve its fresh taste and soft green color.
